Sweat Nectar

Hidden amongst a canopy of flowering gum, this curious parrot pauses to enjoy the sweet reward of nature's generosity. Drawn by the vivid blossoms, it becomes part of a moment that often goes unnoticed a fleeting encounter between bird and bloom unfolding quietly above our heads.

I was captivated by the contrast of brilliant greens and rich crimson blossoms, set against the warm glow of the Australian landscape. Rather than simply documenting the scene, I wanted to immerse the viewer within it, inviting them to experience the colour, energy and abundance of our native environment.

Sweet Nectar celebrates the vibrant relationship between Australia's native birds and flowering gums. Inspired by my love of exploring and discovering the unexpected, it is a reminder that some of nature's most extraordinary moments reveal themselves only when we slow down, become present, and look a little closer.
